A REST e-signature API: we plug it into your system and take the provider switch off your hands

You click “send” in your own system and SignSafe delivers the document for signing to anyone: a phone, internet and a finger are enough, and signing takes a minute. We return the signed version where you need it. We do the REST API integration and the provider switch, and you get the same feature set for half the price you pay today. Where a qualified electronic signature is required, we can connect it.

The SignSafe API is the REST API of a tool for electronic document workflow and collecting signatures from people with no easy way to sign, such as foreigners. You send a document from your system, the recipient signs with a finger on a phone in a minute, and the signed PDF returns to the right record. We do the rollout; the same feature set costs 50% of your price. Where a qualified signature is required, we can connect it.

The SignSafe API lets you fully automate collecting signatures from any third party. Integration with your own system makes the whole process simpler and more efficient, without leaving the environment you already work in.

Offer for API customers and companies switching providers

Paying a competitor for e-signatures? We will offer 50% of that price.

We deliver the identical feature package you use today with Autenti, Pergamin, DocuSign or Adobe Sign, at a price 50% lower than your current one. Just show us an invoice or offer from your current provider. We take care of the rest.

  • Switching provider is simple and low-effort: we do practically everything
  • Integration with your system through a REST API
  • Full flow: sending, signing, signed document returned to your system
−50%off your current price

The identical feature package at the identical price minus 50%. Offer on presentation of your current provider’s invoice or offer; terms are agreed individually.

What you gain from automating through the API

Automating signature collection means you keep working in your own system while SignSafe takes care of the rest.

Greater scale

Automation lets you handle many customers, employees and subcontractors at once, with no extra effort.

Complete documentation

Signed documents return automatically to the right places in your system, which reduces the risk of errors and missing documents.

Saved time and resources

Less manual handling of documents leaves more time for other important work.

Smooth collaboration

Integration with your existing systems keeps work flowing, without changing the tools you already use.

What usually gets in the way

You send documents by hand and signed ones come back by email

Someone has to download the file, name it and attach it to the right client or employee. With volume that means hours of work and a risk of mistakes.

You are missing complete document sets

When signatures scatter across inboxes and drives, it is hard to show quickly who has signed and who has not.

You pay for a heavy provider and use part of the features

Per-document or per-seat pricing grows with your business, while you mainly need sending, signing and returning the document.

Switching provider looks like one more project for your team

When the integration needs developer time and testing on your side, the switch gets postponed and the bill for your current provider keeps growing.

We connect SignSafe to your system through the REST API

We agree which system you send documents from and where the signed files should return. We do the configuration and integration, with support at every stage of the rollout.

You send a document in one click

After you click “send”, SignSafe takes the recipient’s details from your system and delivers the document for signing.

The recipient fills in and signs

The signer opens a link in a browser, completes the fields and signs by hand on the screen. No account needed.

The document returns to your system

The complete, signed PDF is attached automatically to the customer, employee, lead, subcontractor or project record.

What you can do

  • Automatic sending of documents for signature from your system through the REST API
  • Handling many customers, employees and subcontractors at once
  • Recipient fills in document fields before signing
  • Automatic return of the signed document to the right place
  • Real-time signature status tracking

Who it is for

  • Companies that send many documents for signature: contracts with employees, clients and subcontractors
  • Staffing agencies, recruiters and HR teams where every candidate means several documents
  • Teams with their own system (CRM, ERP, sales system, platform) that want signing without leaving it
  • Companies paying for DocuSign, Autenti, Pergamin or Adobe Sign today and looking for a lower bill without losing features and without effort on their side

Developer e-signature tools: what the REST API covers

For a developer or a small company with its own system, the SignSafe REST API covers the core flow: sending a document for signature from your system, retrieving the recipient’s data, and returning the signed PDF to the right place (a customer, employee, lead, subcontractor or project record). The signer needs no account and signs on a phone in a minute, so a foreigner, an older person or anyone without a qualified signature has no excuse. We do the integration and support every stage of the rollout, and pricing is individual, which suits an e-signature API for SMEs that does not need a heavy enterprise contract.

We make the REST API documentation available on request for an offer.

What features should an enterprise e-signature platform have?

At the very least an enterprise e-signature platform should cover the full flow: sending to one or many recipients, signing without forcing the signer to register, real-time status, return of the signed document to your system through an API, and clear rules on where data is stored and who processes it. SignSafe covers these: sending to one or many people, signing on a phone or computer with no account, real-time status, a REST API with return to the right record, EU hosting (OVH) and a data processing agreement for business and API customers.

It is also worth asking any provider about the legal form of the signature and rollout support. With us the handwritten signature meets the written form, and where a qualified electronic signature is needed, we can connect it. See also electronic document workflow.

Switching provider with no effort on your side

Moving to SignSafe with a REST API integration is light for you and very simple, because we do practically everything. The split of work looks like this:

What we do

  • analyse your invoice or offer and check what you really use,
  • configure SignSafe for your process,
  • build the REST API integration with your system,
  • test the whole flow: sending, signing and returning the document,
  • switch new documents over to SignSafe.

What you do

  • show the invoice or offer from your current provider,
  • give access to the integration point in your system,
  • accept the tests.

The full process is described in switch e-signature provider.

The same feature set for half the price you pay today

For the flow most companies run through an API, that is sending a document for signature, the recipient signing, tracking status and returning the signed file to your system, we deliver the same feature set as DocuSign, Autenti, Pergamin and Adobe Sign. Show us the invoice or offer from your current provider. We will check what you really use and prepare a 1:1 offer: the same feature set at a price 50% lower than your current provider’s.

API access is priced individually. The offer is aimed mainly at API customers, meaning companies that want to automate sending and collecting signatures in their own system. Subscribers of the standard plan (69 PLN net per month) are welcome too. Write to us and we reply within 48 hours.

Proof from practice: the R2T rollout

R2T, a temporary employment agency, rolled out signing of contracts with temporary workers (contrat de mission) and with agency clients (contrat de mise à disposition). SignSafe was integrated with R2T’s dedicated system for running a staffing agency. You will find the rollout described on the case page: R2T rollout and API integration. The sector is also covered in e-signature for staffing agencies.

Legal basis and the qualified signature

A signature placed in SignSafe is a handwritten signature. According to the legal opinion of the law firm Gałecki and Associates of 21 August 2023 it meets the written form requirement, and as a fallback the declaration is valid in documentary form. In its effects it is equivalent to a qualified electronic signature (both preserve the written form). Our own handwritten signature is, however, not a qualified electronic signature.

For acts that require only the written form, a SignSafe signature is sufficient according to that opinion. Where a qualified electronic signature is required (for example the electronic form under Art. 78¹ of the Polish Civil Code), we can connect it in SignSafe. A notarial deed cannot be replaced this way. This is a summary of an opinion, not legal advice. If in doubt, consult a lawyer. You can download the opinion on legal security or directly: legal opinion 2023 (PDF, in Polish).

Where documents go: space and archive

The standard plan has 1 GB for documents. For an integration with a large flow of documents we can connect to an external drive or a server of the client, so that storage and the archive stay on your side. We agree the details in the offer.

Easy integration with any system

The SignSafe API connects to the system your organisation already uses (a CRM, ERP, HR or project system, or your own platform). You keep working in a familiar environment, and SignSafe takes care of the rest.

After you click “send” in your system, SignSafe automatically picks up the recipient’s details and delivers the document for signing. The recipient can complete the document and sign it, and the complete version returns to your system through the API. Documents are attached to the right places: a customer, employee, lead, subcontractor or project record.

Security and legal basis

Service data, including documents and signers’ data, is stored on servers in the European Union (OVH hosting).

For business and API customers we sign a separate data processing agreement (GDPR).

A SignSafe signature is a handwritten signature and meets the written form (G&A legal opinion, 2023); as a fallback it is valid in documentary form. Our own handwritten signature is not a qualified electronic signature, but where a customer requires a qualified signature, we can connect one.

Legal nature of a signature placed by hand on the touch screen of an electronic device

A signature placed in SignSafe is a handwritten signature, and a declaration of intent signed in the app meets the requirements of written form. If the signature did not qualify as handwritten, the declaration is still valid in documentary form. In legal effect it is equivalent to a qualified electronic signature: both preserve written form.

Frequently asked questions

Will switching e-signature provider be burdensome for me?

No. With an API integration we do practically everything: we analyse your invoice or offer, configure SignSafe, build the REST integration, test and switch over. On your side there is showing the invoice or offer, access to the integration point and accepting the tests.

What features should an enterprise e-signature platform have?

It should cover sending to one or many recipients, signing with no forced registration, real-time status, return of the signed document through an API, and clear data storage and processing rules. SignSafe has these, with EU hosting and a data processing agreement. Ask any provider also about the legal form of the signature: ours is handwritten, and we can connect a qualified one.

Is there an e-signature API for SMEs?

Yes. The SignSafe REST API suits small and medium companies with their own system: you send from your system and the signed PDF returns to the right record. We do the integration and pricing is individual, so you do not need a heavy enterprise contract.

Does SignSafe offer developer e-signature tools?

SignSafe offers a REST API for sending documents for signature and returning signed PDFs, with our support at every stage of rollout. We make the REST API documentation available on request for an offer.

Is the SignSafe integration through a REST API?

Yes. We build the integration through a REST API: you send a document from your own system and the signed PDF returns to the right record. We make the REST API documentation available on request for an offer.

Do I get the same feature set for half the price?

Yes, for sending, signing, status and returning a document, also through the API. On showing an invoice or offer from your current provider we prepare a 1:1 offer: the same feature set at a price 50% lower than your current provider’s.

How much does the SignSafe API cost?

API access is priced individually. If you use DocuSign, Autenti, Pergamin or Adobe Sign today and show us an invoice or offer, we prepare a 1:1 offer: the same feature set at a price 50% lower than your current provider’s.

Has anyone already integrated SignSafe with their own system?

Yes. R2T, a temporary employment agency, signs contracts with temporary workers (contrat de mission) and with agency clients (contrat de mise à disposition) through SignSafe, integrated with R2T’s dedicated system for running a staffing agency.

Does the signer have to create an account?

No. The recipient opens a link in a browser, completes the document and signs with a finger on the screen. No registration, no app.

Does SignSafe support a qualified signature?

Yes, we can connect one. SignSafe’s own handwritten signature is not qualified: it is handwritten and, according to the 2023 G&A legal opinion, meets the written form. Where a qualified electronic signature is required, for example for the electronic form under Art. 78¹ of the Civil Code, we connect it in SignSafe. It does not replace a notarial deed.

How long does the integration take?

It depends on your system and the scope of the process. We set the scope in the offer after a short conversation about where you send documents from and where they should return.

Where are documents sent through the API stored?

We store service data on servers in the European Union (OVH hosting). Processing rules for API customers are set out in the data processing agreement.

What if more documents flow through the API than 1 GB can hold?

We can connect to an external drive or a server of the client so that storage and the archive are on your side. This is a possibility agreed in the offer.
